A principal and a teaching supervisor have been transferred with immediate effect and an inquiry has commenced over the leaking of a third term Grade 11 mathematics paper.

The Principal of Godigamuwa Maha Vidyalaya has been transferred to the Minuwangoda education zone while the school’s teaching supervisor who is also in charge of examination supervising has been transferred to the Colombo provincial education office, Wimal Guneratne, Provincial Education Director, Western province, said.

This transfers come following complaints received by Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga that a Grade 11 mathematics term test paper has been leaked by the school.

The Provincial Director said the paper was included in the paper bundle that was given to the school.

He said that the duo had not followed orders of the Provincial Education Department and the preliminary inquiry report will be handed over to the Minister of Education.

Western Province Education Secretary Daya Senerath said if a private tuition teacher has discussed this paper or given the same questions to students, legal action will be taken against private tuition masters.
