MAS Active started their campaign with back-to-back wins over Sampath Bank and HNB in the ongoing 22nd Singer – MCA Premier League, continued last weekend.

Defending Champions, MAS Intimates Unichela, too scored back to back wins, to remain unbeaten after five matches, beating Commercial Credit by three wickets and Seylan Bank by four wickets. Sri Lanka players, Farveez Maharoof (4 for 43), Kusal Janith Perera (54) and Mahela Udawatte (54) fashioned Unichela’s win over Commercial Credit.

Despite a fine century by Harsha Vithana (112 in 117 balls with eight sixes and seven fours) for Seylan Bank, Unichela managed a four wickets win helped by useful contributions from Dhanushka Gunatillake (46), skipper, Chamara Silva (47) and Farveez Maharoof (49 not out).

In the only match played on the Poya day between John Keells and MAS Active, took the shape of T-20 due to rain at the MCA Grounds.
In a match reduced to 20 overs a side game, MAS Active riding on a quick-fire 92 ball, 121 runs, 3rd wicket stand between Sachithra Serasinghe (57 not out in 49 balls, inclusive of four sixes and same number of fours) and Jehan Mubarak (64 in 49 balls, inclusive of four sixes and four), raised to a fine seven wickets win.

The tournament will be continued this weekend with a card of three matches.
