“Because of SportUnleash, parents will no longer have to guess what their child is good at, says the Inventor of SportUnleash, Talavou Alailima, a prominent US qualified Sports, Nutrition and Strength Training Consultant, at a recent launch of this innovative system.

Talavou who has carved a niche in the gym industry being the pioneer of ‘Power World’ fitness network, the Edge Sports nutrition supplements and the Lion Warrior Sport High Performance programme, is a former national Shot-Putt and Discus throw holder, SAF games medalist and NCAA All American athlete and a Master of Sport Management Degree holder.

While stating that SportUnleash will challenge the landscape of talent identification in countries of the emerging world such as Sri Lanka, Talavou says, due to the accuracy of its assessment, no more will countries like ours be limited to the sidelines while more affluent and better equipped nations will be flawless in the world’s sports arena.

Elaborating further, he says SportUnleash tracking system will unlock the sports gifting of the children by way of analysing the physical forces a child is able to generate or possess, and match that with the demands that comes out of a sport.

Explaining the different categories under which the child will be tested, he says, the report will not only identify the particular sport/s the child is good at, but even the various positions in that game suitable for the child. Once identified, pursuing that sport long enough will enhance the skill levels of the sportsman/woman, he adds.

“When children pursue a particular sport according to the SportUnleash test information, where their physical strengths match the demands of the sport, they will automatically become passionate, engaged and commit long term to the sport,” he emphasises adding that, as a result of the strategy involved in SportUnleash, when children pursue the talent for over 10 years, they will reach their genetic potential to become world class players. “This will create a new breed of champions and national players for our country,” he says.

In addition to tapping the sport that best suits a child, the 20 page SportUnleash report comes in handy as a guide to parents with information on feeding the children to maximise their potential, nutrition, supplements and many other relevant topics. To assist the parents across the country to have their child SportUnleash tested, 500 specialists comprising school coaches of various sports disciplines will be available island wide.

The acclaimed swimmer, Julian Bolling endorsing the invention of Talavou Alailima said, this is something vital to Sri Lanka, especially to the village that has many hidden sports talent. “This is one vital component in a broader puzzle where infrastructure for training also plays a critical role after showing the sportsmen/women the correct path. When Talavou takes an initiative like this, rest will also follow,” says Julian.
“If we can direct the parents along the proper path to guide their children, it would help them do the needful without wasting much time and money,” he says adding that SportUnleash will help initiate the talent search across the country from the North to South.

“As sports lovers, our support is there right through out to take this forward,” he adds.

Attending the launch, Warden of St. Thomas College Mount Lavinia Prof. Indra de Soysa, the Consultant for Sports Medicine and Radiology and Past President of Asian Federation of Sports Medicine, Major General Dr. C. Thurairaja and Director General of the Sri Lanka Anti Doping Agency Dr. Seevali Jayawickrama also gave endorsements on SportUnleash.
