AIDEX 2014, the annual Sports Festival for amputees who are users of Jaipur limbs, organised by the Colombo Friend-in-Need Society will be held at the Wesley College ground in Colombo on October 19. This will be the 183rd anniversary of the Colombo Frien-in-Need Society which organizes the AIDEX Sports Festival for the 25th successive year. Over 400 participants from various parts of Sri Lanka are expected to compete at the event which is much looked forward by those who take part as well as the organisers.

The event will kick off from 9.00am with many events on the cards. Some of the events that are lined up for the day are the Male and Female Bicycle Races besides the 57 track and field events, which include 100m, 200m and 400m sprints, putt shot, long jump, discus throw and archery.

Dilmah has come forward to support the event by providing with free t’shirts and caps for the participants and volunteers. Volunteers from Colombo Friend-in-Need Society, Girls Guides of Musaeus College, students from the Colombo Medical Facility and staff members of Tallman Tours have come forward to make this event a success.
