The arrangements for this year’s edition of the race were revealed at an official press briefing held at the ‘Nelum Pokuna’ Theater in Colombo headed by the Colonel of Gajaba Regiment Major General Lalith Daulagala.

The upcoming motor racing event will also be crucial for top drivers and riders particularly Aravinda Premadasa and Shehan C. Adikari, who are on the hunt for the CEAT-SLADA Championship titles. President of SLADA, veteran driver Yoga Perera stated that wins at the Gajaba Supercross will be much needed for the driver and rider if they are to maintain their hopes of clinching the championship title.

A total of 22 events – 12 for cars and 10 for bikes have been scheduled but alterations in numbers could occur depending on the number of competitors.

This motor racing event was inaugurated on August 22, 1999, under the leadership of late Major General G.A Gunasekara, the then Colonel of the Regiment and Hans Ralff the former president of SLARDAR.
