The fifth edition of Carlton Super Sevens will feature a Schools 7 team beginning from this season where top eight Under-20 teams are expected to test their might in the shorter version of rugby. The tournament will be known as the Dialog-Carlton Schools 7s and will add an intriguing dimension to the International competitions.

The schools in fray are: Isipathana, Trinity, Kingswood, Royal, St. Joseph’s, Science, Wesley Colleges and C.W.W. Kannangara Maha Vidyalaya. The schools tournament was included in the first edition of the Carlton Super Sevens way back in 2009 at the Sugathadasa Stadium when the International competition was conducted in two segments – under Asia and International. St. Peter’s College won the first and only sevens tournament held for schools and this will be the second occasion where schools are showcased.

Schools competed on the second and final day of the first leg in Koggala yesterday and will kick off the second leg at the Racecourse ground in Colombo on August 15.
