New head for MAF
View(s):The 20th Annual General Meeting of the Moratuwa Arts Forum (MAF) was held at the Sri Palee Hall in Moratuwa recently. Veteran singer Niranjala Sarojini graced the occasion as the Chief Guest at this event.The out going presdent Lankika Perera addressed the house and explained the achievements of MAF members during the calendar year 2013.
New MAF Committee
Five members of MAF received ‘Kala Booshana’ at the recently concluded State Awards Festival for their dedicated service to the Sri Lankan Music and Arts,
Veteran film star and director Roy De Silva, veteran singers C.L. Fonseka, Christopher Paul, and musician Chanaka Perera of Golden Chimes and drama director Hensley Fernando were awarded certificates of recognition in honour of their achievement during the Moratuwa Arts Forum AGM.
Also the highest award for the year, the late Asoka Peiris Memorial Award was presented to Sankalpa De Mel for his contribution during the year with stage drama and scripts. The current Vice President Hemaka Fernando was elected as the President of MAF for year 2014/2015 and Hiran Fernando was elected as the Asst Vice President, while Mala Bhareti was elected as the Secretary.
Other Office bearers elected are Treasurer- Ivan De Silva, Asst Treasurer- Suranga Fernando
