The BMICH hall will soon reverberate with the sounds of great operatic music, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka and the SOSL Chorus under the dynamic direction of British conductor, Gregory Rose.

“A Night at the Opera’ on May 31 will feature timeless gems from the operatic repertoire – the rich sounds of Verdi, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, Mozart and other great masters of opera composition.

The SOSL adds a new chapter to its repertoire of concerts, performed over the last 58 years, when it joins the SOSL Chorus, comprising singers from the leading choral groups in Sri Lanka, in presenting ‘A Night at the Opera’.

Gregory Rose, who’s well known in Sri Lanka will return to take over the baton in this concert. He has had an extensive international career in orchestral and choral repertoires in Western and Eastern Europe and the Far East, particularly covering the romantic and contemporary periods.

Asitha Tennekoon will enhance the evening’s programme as soloist in some of opera’s best loved arias.

Tickets will be open to the public for online purchases through www.tickets.lk while tickets could be purchased from Tickets.lk at 5th Lane, Colombo 3, Yamaha Music Center, Colombo 7 and Sarasavi Book Shop, Nugegoda from
May 12.
