In an interesting game of rugby played at the neutral venue of Pallekele, Kandy SC ran out 41-30 winners over a spirited police side. The winners scored 3 goals and 4 tries, to the Police’s 2 goals, 2 tries, a penalty and a drop goal. At the break, Kandy led 19-15.
Samisori (2) Oshan Perera, Lavanga Perera, Damian Ratwatte and Kandy’s latest signing Sai Lousi touched down. The conversions were made by Rohan Weeraratne.

For Police Loyard Chanalla, Mauzpsli Lapana (2) and Udara Chanaka scored the tries. Lahiru Gunasinghe dropped a neat goal.
It wasn’t entirely one sided as police kept coming back for more. At one stage, not far from the end, Kandy’s lead was a more tour points.
The player of the match probably was Lapana, who played at Centre and full back. When he decided to run with the ball, it seemed as through there was no defence in front of him.

Kandy rested Manja and Dharmapala, inter alia, and nearly paid the price.
Come Wednesday, they take on the Havies at the race course in the semi-final. ]
Referee. Gamini Indrasena. (AK)
