Mercantile TT league tourney on Nov 7 and 8
View(s):The Mercantile Table Tennis Association will be conducting its annual league tournament which will be held on November 7 and 8 St. Thomas’ College indoor sports complex, Mount Lavinia.
This year’s tournament has received an increased number of entries from sixteen (16) Mercantile firms reflecting it’s growing popularity with over 100 team matches to be played during the tournament. Team entries received were from Astron Sports Club, Commercial Bank, Commercial Credit, Carson Cumberbatch, Colombo Stock Exchange, Dialog, Geometry Global, HSBC, Heyleys, MAS Intimates, Millennium IT, Seylan Bank, Singer Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan Airline, Unilever and V.V Karunaratne and Co.
MAS Intimates are the hot favourites to win the tournament for the seventh successive year.
Rajiva Wijetunge of MAS Intimates, Wasantha Perera of Singer Sri Lanka and Gamini Moraes of Astron sports club who have participated at Mercantile Table Tennis during the last Three (3) decades will be recognised by the Mercantile Table Tennis Association at the end of the tournament.
