C.W.W. Kannangara Maha Vidyalaya won the Under-19 Girls’ Football Championship at the Galle Educational Zone Sports Festival which was held in Galle recently. The Southern Province Schools’ karate team which won 13 medals at the Asian Karate Championship held in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia was felicitated at a simple ceremony held in Ratgama. Under the guidance of Sudath Mendis, Sri Lanka won four gold medals, a silver medal and eight bronze medals at the tournament. The coach of the Southern Province Schools Karate Instructor, Sudath Mendis, who coached and led the young karatekas of the South, was awarded with a token of appreciation by U.G.D. Ariyathilake, the Sports Minister of Southern Province. – Gamini Mahadura from Galle

 

Meepawela Amarasooriya Maha Vidyalaya clinched the Under-15 Boys’ kabaddi championship at the Southern Schools Kabaddi Tournament which was held in Galle recently. The victorious team ins seen in the picture with their officials. - Gamini Mahadura from Galle
