Northumbria University School of Design, the only globally recognised British University in Sri Lanka to offer a Fashion and Design Degree in Sri Lanka celebrated their 5th batch to graduate from the AOD International Campus which has a 100% employment track record. The 150th student to pass out was Anuththara Weerasekara who said that the unique features of the Northumbria Degree at AOD International Design campus were:

- As soon I registered at the Northumbria University, AOD International design campus I became a internal student of Northumbria University in UK that gave me Access to all Northumbria University learning resources.

-  I had access to all State-of-the-art campus facilities and design studio resources right here in Sri Lanka.

Prof. Steven Kyffin, Dean of Northumbria University UK Faculty of Arts and Design, congratulating Anuththara Weerasekare (BA Honours Fashion) at the Graduation in Sri Lanka

-  Whilst I saved almost 70% of the costs that I would have incurred if I enrolled in the UK Northumbria campus, the certificate I received is identical to the degree that the students in our UK campus receive.  In fact I was invited to the convocation in the UK and to graduate at the annual Northumbria Graduation.

- The faculty in Sri Lanka is totally International and the teaching standards were very high as once in 3 months, they had to travel to the UK for training and validation which gave us the opportunity to learn the most recent trends in the world of fashion and design.

-  As the Northumbria University curriculum at the AOD International campus is identical to the syllabi in the UK and it is moderated by the same examination board as in the UK. This gives us the stringent quality procedures followed. Which is why all of was employed as soon as the results came.

- A unique experience during the programme was that built -in industry internships in top organizations in Sri Lanka  was offered to us so that we get a hands on exposure to the real world of business and finance and the job opportunities that exists in the industry.

- Some of my friends got direct transfers to  Universities in Australia, USA and Canada as Northumbria UK degree is globally accepted

-   I am proud to have received membership at Northumbria University and to be part of the world-class design alumni.

Northumbria School of Design Degree

Northumbria University School of Design at the AOD International campus maintains its supremacy with the continuous improvement to the syllabi given that the world of fashion and design is continuously changing with the design hubs mainly in Europe, be it London, Paris or Milan. With these changes and the world class International Faculty the three degrees offered (BA (Hons) are in Fashion, Interior Design and Graphic Design. The state of the art studio rooms in the Sri Lankan campus helps in the practices that students have to move through so that the creativity is moulded to fit into the commercial world.
