Piushan first Rahulian to reach 1000 runs

Right-hand batsman Piushan Kulathunga is the first cricketer from Rahula College Matara to score 1000 runs in a season.

He has scored 1029 runs in 29 innings from the eighteen matches he played for Rahula College this season. This includes the quarterfinal and semifinal games in the Under 19 Division Two tournament.

Rahula lost the semifinal game on points and failed to qualify to play in Division One of the schools tournament next season. In addition to the 1029 runs he scored in the two day tournament, Piushan has scored 75 runs in the Limited Over tournament.
