Executive Search Ltd, Sri Lanka (ESL) recently hosted a visit by Ms Susan Campbell-Beattie of Dubai Air Navigation Services to the Sri Jinananda Boys Orphanage, Colombo.
During a visit in March 2012 she expressed a desire to engage in a suitable humanitarian project in this country, and thus the Sri Jinananda Boys Orphanage, which is in close proximity to the ESL office at Colombo 4, was chosen for this project.
The ESL has a long relationship with this institution with its members helping to provide educational aids, clothes, shoes and lately, cricket equipment.
Ms Beattie is an Office Manager for Dubai Air Navigation Services (DANS) – part of the SERCO group worldwide. “ESL had had the good fortune of meeting Ms Campbell-Beattie through Mr Adam Campbell, her spouse who frequently visits Sri Lanka on the recruitment needs of his company. Such recruitment needs have been serviced by ESL,” the local company said. In March 2012, Ms Campbell-Beattie arranged a donation of little over Rs.100,000 to the orphanage which was utilized to provide a fairly large stock of school uniforms and T-shirts for all the boys.
In December 2012, she again sourced a donation of nearly Rs.500,000 which was used to provide school bags, school stationery, stitching of additional uniforms and footwear, etc. In recognition of her services to an orphanage for destitute boys such as the Sri Jinananda Boys Orphanage, Ms Campbell-Beattie was selected as recipient of the Heart Award 2012 from SERCO which has its head office in UK
However Ms Campbell-Beattie didn’t attend the awards ceremony in Dubai on March 21 as she was in Sri Lanka involved in helping the orphanage, She nominated a senior officer from the group to accept the award in her place.
Fayaz Saleem, ESL Chairman/MD expressed satisfaction that the members of ESL had identified a worthy project as one of their CSR endeavours.
