Q: At present there are large numbers of hotel training school in Sri Lanka Why Win – Stone differ from them?
A: We established the Win – Stone hotel school with the aim of train our students well’ We do not want to become another hotel school in the country which trained youths and issue a certificate for them ‘ We take the responsibility of train the Students and send them to the local and international hotels for the employment as well’ That is the difference between Win – Stone hotel and other hotel schools in Sri Lanka’
Q: Can you assure on this?
A: Yes of course’ The Win – Stone is preparing all qualifications of students which are essential to become experts in the hotel filed in the world wide from the beginning of the course ‘ We are the only hotel school which granting the VQ three and four levels which have registered in the Vocational Training Authority’
We have received the City and Gilds certificate from England, Tafe Certificate from Australia , Lincoln University certificate from Malaysia, certificate from New Zealand and certificate for fire prevention’ We have number of local and
International certificates’ According to that we have the ability to conduct several courses for the youth generation which are suitable for their various skills and qualifications’ And we also have the ability to issue certificates according to their qualifications via these courses’
Q: Is there the ability to students for follow hotel management till its degree level from the Win – Stone
A: Yes, we are assuring on that’ Our diploma course is getting one year’ after that the student has the way to go till B.A (Honors) Degree. The way to the degree is already opened for our Win – Stone students.
Q: Can they study till their Doctor Rate degree from the Win – Stone hotel school?
A: Yes why not? Now we have granted the facility to the Sri Lankan youths to have the Doctor Rate Degree and Post Graduate Degree in Hotel Management which granting from the Lincoln University, Malaysia.
Q: Several institute which are telling that they have the ability to grant degrees at the registration. But the students have to go abroad to have their degrees. Is the Win – Stone having the facility to grant these degrees without sending the students to abroad?
A: There is no need to go abroad to have degrees for the students who are doing their studies with the Win – Stone hotel school . The Win – Stone hotel school is a Sri Lankan branch of those universities. The students who have to go Malaysia to have their degrees have to spend around Rs. 600,000
But the Win – Stone is charging only Rs. 12,500 per month and they have to pay it in 12 installments and they can follow their degree.
Q: Is the knowledge the students gather from the hotel training only enough to get employed with the high class hotel?
A: Not at all. The Win – Stone had already understood it. Because of we are granting English knowledge for every student. In addition to that we teach them the way to face interviews and we have established a special unit to adjust their disciplines and behavior for the international hotel environment.
Not only the knowledge, the institutions should know how to make an interest in the students in their selected fields and instructors should know the correct way to guide their students for their future career. We, the Win – Stone are doing these entire things in a very clear manner.
Q: Previously you said that the students who are completing the diploma courses or degrees in the Win – Stone will direct to the employments via the institution. Can you explain that?
A: Sure. We never abandon our students. We direct all our graduates and Diploma holders for the employments.
If our Student wants to have an employment in Super Luxury Sri Lankan hotel or if they want to go abroad for their employments, we are ready to open their way. We Promise that from their registration. The Win – Stone is the only one hotel training school which gives such promise in Sri Lanka.
Q: Are you ready to face that challenge?
A: Definitely we can aver that. We are recruiting a limited number of students for all courses. We recruit only 30 students per one course and it is also an international standard. Year 2016 is a tourism year at present thousands of international level hotel rooms are establishing for the coming tourism year. They require large number of employees with a higher standard training. That is the challenge towards us and we are already to win that.
