Textured Jersey Lanka (TJL) is in the process of broadbasing its client base and has added Decathlon and Tesco to a list that includes Victoria’s Secret, Marks & Spencer and Intimissimi, according to officials.
“We are now adding on new customers and recently added Decathlon and Tesco (as customers),” Hasitha Premaratne, Director TJL told the Business Times. Analysts said that along with a strong order book driven by encouraging results from new product lines and continued interest from its existing top clients is likely to drive TJL’s revenue in the coming months.
TJL recorded a 7.1 per cent year on year drop in top line during the quarter ended 31st December 2012 as expected due to lower average selling prices as a result of low yarn costs. TJL also commenced construction of the multi-fuel boiler plant during the said quarter as planned. However, the progress of the fabric mill acquisition is yet in evaluation stage, Mr. Premaratne said.
“We are on 90 to 95 per cent capacity and have kept volume growth constant until installed capacity is increased.” He said that industry-leading production efficiencies, strict cost controls and the net finance income led to a healthy bottom line of Rs 364.98 million (+94.9% year on year).
