Swann set for summer return after surgery

England spinner Graeme Swann has undergone surgery on his right elbow in the USA, and is set to be fit for the summer season, according to a statement from the ECB.
Swann was forced to leave the tour of New Zealand after the injury, which has been ongoing over the past four years, flared up again, and it was decided he would get the operation to remove bone fragments sooner rather than later.
An ECB statement said: “England and Nottinghamshire off-spinner Graeme Swann has undergone an uncomplicated operation on his right elbow to excise excess bone formation that had re-accumulated following his previous operation four years ago.
“Swann will now commence a six-to-eight-week rehabilitation and back-to-bowling programme before returning to competitive cricket early in the summer.”
Swann had been hoping to get back to action in time for the return series against the Black Caps in May, but it appears he will more likely be fit for the Champions Trophy in June

England will be sans Swann for a while.
