St. John’s Panadura settled for a draw against traditional rivals Royal Panadura in the 21st Battle of the Greens big match concluded at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.
St. John’s resuming from their overnight score of 45 for 2 succumbed in the post lunch session as skipper Thenuka Dhananjaya along with Hashan Vimukthi and Akila Lakshan combined to bowl them out for 146.
This was in reply to Royal Panadura’s formidable score of 256 made on day one which came on the back of half tons by Damindu Ashan and Yasith Chamod. The Johnians made to follow on with a deficit of 110 runs ended the day one 74 for 4.
