Human Resource Management Institute (HRMI) offers a globally recognized MBA pathway for those employed with at least 2 years of work experience. The unique feature of this pathway is that it is a UK qualification in its entirety and therefore the acceptance and recognition is beyond doubt.

This pathway consists of three stages. Stage One being the Managerial Diploma in Business Administration which is assured and awarded by Edexcel UK; Stage Two being the Edexcel BTEC Level 7 Pre-Masters and Stage Three the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree awarded by a reputed British University . At the end of each stage a student will receive the relevant certificates and this progression will contribute to enhancement of career status.

Mr. Nandana Kankarathna, former Head of Learning and Development at Unilever Sri Lanka commented that this is an ideal career development strategy for those young executives aspiring to become senior managers and CEOs. At Stage 1, students will gain a comprehensive knowledge of Business Administration whilst at Stage 2 the focus is on Strategic Management and Leadership and during the final year the emphasis will be on Applied Business Management. Mr Kankarathna further said that any young person who does not want to get stuck in his/her career should do this sort of a programme that will provide a clear ‘way forward’ to achieve professional development as well as career advancement. Each stage will consist of 12 months and HRMI has designed a ‘purse friendly – interest free’ instalment plan that will ease the financial burden of students. This pathway is also open for undergraduates and part qualified professionals.

The course is scheduled to commence on 17th March and classes will be held once a week on Sunday mornings. HRMI spokesperson said, ‘students registering prior to 28th February will receive all the text books free’. Details could be downloaded from www.hrmi.lk or by calling 071 2724425 or 077 2204101.
