According to Mr. Prasanna Aluthge, Chief Executive of OCBT, students who complete the Software Engineering programme will be able to obtain employment as a Software Engineer within a short period of time of one year. While they are thus employed, they can either register for the final year of the locally and internationally accepted Bachelors of Information Technology Degree programme of University of Colombo and complete the degree or enter for the final year of an IT Degree programme of a university in the United Kingdom or Australia and complete that degree programme in Sri Lanka or abroad. Accordingly, students of the OCBT Software Engineering programme will be entitled for an information technology degree from a local or an overseas university and they will have at least one year + on the job experience in the software development professional field when they complete the Degree, paving the way for them to obtain highly paid employment in an accepted company in the information technology field thereafter.
