Chemila Obeysekara hit 35 not out and returned to claim three scalps.

Richmond College Galle cruised to their sixth outright win of the ongoing Under 19 inter-school cricket season with a eight wicket win over St Servatius Matara in the match concluded at the Uyanwatte Stadium in Matara yesterday.

It was left arm spinner Saveen Nanayakkara who turned the game in favour of Richmond with an impressive figure of 5 for 15 when St Servatius batted the second time to bundle them out for just 81.

This was after Richmond scoring 197 with skipper Hasitha Madushan making a top score of 52 in reply to the home teams’ score of 159.
Richmond after bowling out St Servatius for 81 was left with an easy run chase of 44 runs and they reached the target in the tenth over with A.K. Tyrone making an unbeaten 27.

Sri Sumangala Panadura too recorded an easy innings and 42 runs win over Revatha MMV Balapitiya in the match concluded at Balapitiya yesterday. The foundation for the win was laid by Tharuka Nadeesha who made an unbeaten 93 helping the Sumangalians make 242 in reply to Revatha MMV’s 112. Revatha MMV batting the second time fared no better being bowled out for just 88 with Lahiru Sandeepa and Sewvinda Sulakshana doing the damage.

St. Benedict’s came out on top in their match against St. Anthony’s at Katugastota, even though a win eluded them.

A match haul of 8 for 84 by left armer Yohan Soysa and a neat half-century by Sameera Sandamal were the key performances for the visitors.

Anthonian skipper Sachin Bulathsingala compiled his second fifty in consecutive matches. Off spinner Nimesha Gunasinghe failed with the bat but turned up trumps with the ball.

This match was played for the Llovelyn Rayan – Charlie Joseph Memorial Trophy and it was drawn for the twenty fifth time since its inception.
