With a top score of 26 points, Chalani Perera was on target for St. Joseph’s Convent, Nugegoda in their convincing 65 to 28 point win over Asian International School in their Colombo South Zonal basketball fixture at Nugegoda. At half time the Josephians were well ahead with 42 points to their opponents 14.
Harini Ramalka was also in form for St. Joseph’s Convent with 11 points, while Prabshi Fonseka with 14 points and Jamina Ahemed six were the best shooters for AIS.
Shashini Weerasuriya top scores for OLV
Shashini Weerasuriya was the leading scorer for Our Lady of Victories with 20 points when they inflicted a 51 to 14 win over Anula Vidyalaya in their under 17 Colombo South Zonal cager fixture at Nugegoda. Visvani Nimada added nine points. The tally at half time was 30 to two in favour of OLV.
For Anula Vidyalaya the best shooters were Nipulini Tanjala with five and Ashika Irangani four. – BM
