Percy Abeysekera, who is known as the world’s first-ever one-man cheering squad for cricket, received an award for completing 50 years of service at ACL Cables, his long time employer.

Abeysekera (76) was handed a token of appreciation for his service towards cricket in Sri Lanka and for completing 50 years of service at the company, from his chairman, Upali Madanayake, in the presence of its managing director Suren Madanayake, at the annual awards ceremony held on January 1.
