Dandiya night with Mehendi
View(s):The Lions Club of Colombo Metro City 306 b 2 presents the first ever Dandiya night in Sri Lanka on January 11 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium. This event is to raise funds for the development of children’s education in rural areas.
Rajesh Jain from India will host the show which will also have games and a sing-along.
The popular dance of Gujarat, Dandiya is performed in a group by both men and women. The special feature of the Dandiya dance is the dancers’ colourful attire and the wooden sticks they use to keep time to the beat of the music.
Farhath’s Mehendi will be another attraction at the show.
