WSO2’s annual user conference will unveil some significant new products in the cloud space from WSO2 in London and Colombo simultaneously. WSO2Con 2013 will be held February 12-14, 2013.

This would be the third conference held annually, which for the first time will be streamed live to Colombo with a participation of around 300 from here and around 150 in the UK that would be held at the Park Plaza Hotel, London.

This event is scheduled to examine cloud, open source, API Management, SOA and Mobile Technology Best Practices.
This year’s conference would look to engage WSO2 customers and country at a deeper level and would ensure its clients are made aware of the new technological innovations as well, its founder Chairman and CEO Sanjeeva Weerawarana told the Business Times on the sidelines of the media briefing held in Colombo last week.

He noted that this year’s event would provide networking opportunities for its customers and have plans to keep the conference annually moving from one country to another.

Currently the organization has offices in the UK, US and Colombo and hope to expand further by entering new markets but was not decided at present. It is a seven and half year old company comprising 160 employees. This year would have speakers of the like of Eben Upton from the Raspberry Pi Foundation, World Economic Forum Senior Advisor for Science and Technology Brian Behlendorf and Cisco Systems Vice President, Industry Solutions Group Pankaj Srivastava.

LankaCom would be engaged in providing two-way video streaming from London for its Colombo participants with a time gap of about 2-3 seconds.

LankaCom MD Rohitha Udalagama speaking at the media briefing said the event would ensure that both parties in London and Colombo would be able to see each other and converse at the same time as part of one large conference despite the distance.
He noted that this would facilitate the sharing of experience among the company’s global development fraternity.
