Record intake for SLIM Preliminary Certificate in Marketing course

A record number of students have registered for the Preliminary Certificate in Marketing, the foundation course offered by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the national body for marketing.

“This year’s intake is the highest ever in SLIM history”, said SLIM President, Mr. Tilan Wijeyesekera.

“We saw many students who have completed the A/L examination which was held recently enthusiastically enrolling themselves for the course. They see it as a good way to start the journey in marketing management” he added.

SLIM PCM is the most recognised and best sought-after Preliminary Certificate course for marketing in the country. SLIM Preliminary Certificate lays the foundation for further studies in marketing and an entry qualification to the indigenous Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

This course of study has been endorsed by top corporates in the country, says SLIM CEO, Mr. Sanath Senanayake.

Many corporates employ SLIM PCM students and recognise it when employing individuals to their sales and marketing functions. They also recognise the PCM qualification at the year-end evaluation leading to increments promotions.

Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (PCM) provides basic theoretical knowledge through class room coaching over a period of three months with a practical assignment where students translate their classroom learning into real world practical applications.
