The BCAS Campus is a higher education institute with thirteen years of experience in providing a quality tertiary education. The institute has built up a reputation of excellence and trust over this period of time. In celebration of the achievements and excellence of the students, BCAS hosted the 2012 convocation ceremony at the BMICH on Sunday the 18th of November. The ceremony saw over eight-hundred students receiving their qualifications in the various streams of study offered by BCAS in partnership with Edexcel , Uk and University of Wolverhampton, Uk. The awards were presented in the following study areas: BTEC HND in Quantity Surveying, Computing, Software Engineering, IT systems support, Tele communication engineering, Law, Business mgt, and Hospitality Mgt,   Professional Diploma in CAD and Building Studies, BTEC National Diploma in Engineering,  Professional Dip in Teacher Training,  Degree  Foundation Studies etc.

Addressing the students, Phil Harris said “I remember attending the first convocation ceremony of BCAS in 2006, and there were just forty students. I look around me now and BCAS has certainly come a long way. I have been working with BCAS since 2005, where we initially collaborated on the development of the first ever privately developed programme to be fully accredited by Edexcel International. Our collaboration recently progressed to University of Wolverhampton degrees being delivered in Sri Lanka through the BCAS premises, utilising the expertise of both Sri Lankan and UK academics. BCAS has impressed the university’s quality unit with the quality of its internal procedures. The

professionalism of the management staff, academics, and support staff has led to the expansion of the University’s portfolio at BCAS”. In conclusion Harris added, “My advice to the graduating students is do not hesitate to step over the threshold of the door that is already open for you – you are prepared, you have received a good training along with knowledge, social and employability skills and the ability to balance your priorities, so you are equipped to overcome any obstacles that come your way”.

This event is another memorable occasion in the 13-year history of BCAS. We started as a basic IT  Training company with a strong vision to impart knowledge that is applicable along with innovative pathways that make it possible for students to become graduates. You and your parents have made a significant investment in the future and you have a duty to yourself to add on further qualifications. In order to be a successful in the future I advice you to be risk-takers, to be innovative and think beyond the usual  borders and think differently ? these are factors that have helped individuals who are

BCAS, along with thirteen years of experience in the higher education field has been recognised by Edexcel as the “Best Performing Institute” in Sri Lanka for the years 2010 and 2011. BCAS is also ISO 9001:2008 certified. BCAS has reached out to students in various parts of Sri Lanka through the BCAS Campus network, which are located in Colombo 06, Dehiwala, Kandy, Batticaloa, and this December BCAS will also venture in to Kurunegala. In addition BCAS has expanded to a global platform, through the establishment of the campus in Qatar.
