President’s GS Nawala clinches Under-16 TT C’ship

Table tennis players of President’s Girls’ School Nawala clinched the Under-16 Division ‘F’ championship at the All-Island Schools Table Tennis Team Championship worked off at the S. Thomas’ Indoor Stadium from October 5 to 7.

The team led by Nethmi Asaktha also had Sandunika Malshani and Hiruni Inoshi who went on to create whirlwinds in the competition by beating St. Bridget’s Convent, Devi Balika Vidyalaya and Holy Family Convent Colombo to qualify for the final.

In the final President’s GS went on to beat Bishop’s College Colombo to clinch the title conducted by the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association. The team was coached by Gayan Duleepa Wijeratne. – NA
