‘Piyavi’ rates in popular chart

‘Piyavi’ teledrama which is now being telecast on Swarnavahinn at 9 pom every Sunday has hit the rating charts as one of the popular teleplays.

Started portraying Colombo upper middle class back ground, the story takes its viewer to a remote village in Kataragama in 1989. Directed by Chamara Janaraj Peiris, the miniplay is maintaining a top spot in LMRB popular rating.

The teledrama revolves around a young students Vishal and Tharusha who undergoes their higher studies at an architectural academy. Vishal’s passion for boxing becomes the biggest hurdles for their relationship. One day he suffered heavy blows from one of his opponents and become unconscious. When he regain his real sense he has forgotten many things including Tharusha, his sweet heart.

Starting from debut tele production ‘Ayal’, the director Chamara has won several awards at various tele awards
ceremonies.
