The private sector pension debate has triggered a major controversy with the government finally agreeing to consider proposals from stakeholders like workers, employers and trade unions.
Given the importance of this issue, the Sunday Times Business Club is organising a panel discussion on the Pension Bill at its monthly meeting at 6.30 pm on Tuesday, June 28 at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
The panellists are Ravi Peiris, Director-General of th Employers' Federation of Ceylon who will explain the position of the employers on this issue while veteran trade unionist, T.M.R. Rasseedin - President Ceylon Federation of Labour (CFL) will discuss workers concerns and rights. The third panellist Manjula de Silva Managing Director of HNB Assurance will talk about various options available for investment with an eye on pensions.
