Mother speaks - like an angel from heaven

Noblest source of inspiration,
Mother! Mother!! Mother!!
Oh, my dearest mother,
You are the fountain of my life.
From dawn to dusk thoughts about you
Keep flashing across my mind,
Comforting body and mind.

Oh, mother! It is wonderful to behold you
Beaming, your teeth sparkling like pearls,
Showing your deep devotion to me;
Your smiles, so beautiful
No flowers on earth can match them;
Love and care you lavished on me
So I would grow up safe and sound;
Oh, mother! I am indebted to you
For the great sacrifices you have made
To make me the man I am today.

Oh, my precious Gem under the sun,
Your voice makes music sweet to me,
And your presence, a safe haven to me.
Your kind, loving words
Still ring in my ears,
Like an angel speaking to me from heaven
To guide me on the path right
Until I breathe my last.

Long live my Mother, dearest to me.
Dearest to me! Dearest to me!!

Kosala Nirmal Ekanayake
