RENEW '09 - LCCIIQ'S NEW INITIATIVES
The London Chamber of Commerce & Industry International Qualifications (LCCIIQ) announced the opening of its new office at 339, Galle Road, Colombo 03 at a ceremony titled Renew '09 held at the Hilton Residencies.

Mr. Ng Guan Lee, Business Development Manager for LCCIIQ - Asia, said the opening of the office in Sri Lanka signified his company's intention to build on the work already done in the country with the aim of providing access to a larger number of students who wish to obtain the globally recognised LCCII qualification. "This was to be accomplished", he said, "by allowing LCCIIQ Recognised Training Centres (RTCs) and students to access training resources and learning material like How To Pass books in each subject and CDs, while being able to apply for exams with ease."

Web Enhanced Service

LCCIIQ RTCs may now gain access to past paper Questions & Answers On-line, while exam results may also be downloaded, saving time and preventing delays in obtaining results. Corporate Training with Certification from UK.

Qualified and experienced corporate trainers may now use specially prepared LCCIIQ training material and provide certification from UK to participants of their programmes. The Introductory Certificate in Marketing (ICM) unveiled by Mr. Ng Guan Lee at Renew '09, is one if many exciting products.

The ICM programme can be completed at a one day seminar after which a twenty question multiple choice paper is attempted and sent to UK for correction. Participants, who successfully complete the exam and score 50%, obtain a certificate from UK.

The price of US$ 25 which includes the exam fee and an illustrated work book (containing practice questions and tasks, which can be completed in groups) is a super sell. The ICM Product is being looked at by corporates and trainers with great interest.

The structured learning programme that leads to the Introductory Certificate in Marketing covers key areas such as an Introduction to Marketing, Customer Behaviour, Marketing Research, The Marketing Mix and Marketing Communication.

World Prize - Silver Medallion

Ms. Thesera Jayawardena was awarded a Silver Medallion for achieving 2nd place in Selling and Sales Management at the LCCIIQ Series 4 exam held in November '08. She becomes the 5th World Prize Winner from Sri Lanka in recent times.

New RTC

Elizabeth College of Higher Studies gained accreditation as an LCCII Recognised Training Centre and was presented with its Certificate at Renew '09. It becomes the 15th centre to receive accreditation in Sri Lanka bringing the active centres around the country to 40.
