ESOFT students excel at the BIT Graduation Ceremony 2009

The Convocation Ceremony for conferring Degree certificates to the graduates of the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) Degree of the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) was concluded successfully at the BMICH on July 22 2009.

The 138 Graduates of the BIT Convocation - 2009

A total of 138 graduates were awarded their certificates at a grand ceremony thereby proving that Vidyajyothi Prof. V. K. Samaranayake had the proper foresight in launching this most important Degree programme back in the year 2000.

The highlight of the event was the award of the Prof V. K. Samaranayake Gold Medal for the highest achiever to Mr. K. D. Danuka Lakmal Kodikara who was the Best Performer for the period under evaluation. As a student of ESOFT, he studied here from Semester 1 to 6 and his project was completed under the guidance of a Project Supervisor from ESOFT's Lecture panel.

ESOFT is proud of the fact that of the 138 graduates, a total of 72 were students who had studied at ESOFT either partially or completely. With over 52% of the total graduates, and 56% of the graduates with classes having been from ESOFT, we are indeed very happy to congratulate everyone for their performances. In a competitive environment where there are more than 10 course providers, the percentages and performances show the value that we provide to the students who study with us. Selecting ESOFT as your learning partner therefore increases your chances of completing the programme faster, and with better results.

Dr. Dayan Rajapakse CEO of ESOFT and Mr. Ragukumar – Manager BIT of ESOFT with the Gold Medal Winner – Mr. Danuka Lakmal Kodikara

It is also important to note that a majority of the students who graduated from their first attempt within the prescribed three years are students from ESOFT. This shows that when a student studies elsewhere or on a self-study basis, their chances of completing the Degree within the three year period are less, thereby affecting their career growth opportunities.

ESOFT offers the BIT programme in Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Negombo, and Matara. We are also introducing the BIT programme in Jaffna and Batticaloa as well through our newest branches, as we believe there is a healthy interest in the programme in the North and East.

Some of the reasons for the outstanding performances of ESOFT students are:
" ESOFT's experience of conducting the BIT Programme ever since its inception.
" Our fulltime academic panel with experience, expertise, and qualifications to perform.
" High quality study material specially prepared by our panel.
" Unmatched infrastructure including computing labs and libraries.
" Providing the same standards of education at all branches conducting the BIT programme.

Students and parents are invited to make the wise choice. Do not be misled by those claiming to be leaders in the market without having the numbers to back it up. ESOFT has led the market for a number of years and the numbers at the graduation ceremony truly prove that ESOFT is the Leader in Sri Lanka for the BIT Programme.
