Dharmasena new head of Players Association

Former Sri Lanka off spinner and the present member of the SLC international panel of umpires Kumara Dharmasena was elected as the President of the Sri Lanka Cricket Players association at their bi-annual meeting held recently.
Dharmasena, who was a member of Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup winning squad, replaces his team mate Pramodya Wickremasinghe. However former fast bowler Graeme Labrooy was re-elected as the secretary.

The new committee reads as: Kumar Dharmasena (President), Pramodya Wickremasinghe (Immediate Past President), Secretary – Graeme Labrooy, Additional Secretary (to be named – this post is reserved for a professional who may not be a past cricketer), Treasurer – Ken de Alwis, Assistant Treasurer – Jerry Woutersz, Committee: Jayantha Amerasinghe, Linden Hannibal, Eric Upashantha, Basil Perera and S.H.U. Karnain. (SRP)
