Bhuvaneka the star

 

Bhuvaneka Ekanayake, a punishing left hander, stole the honours in the drawn 103rd Big Match between Dharmaraja and Kingswood at the Asgiriya Stadium yesterday.

Ekanayake top scored with an eye-catching 82. He also made eighties in the last two big matches. Youngster Weerakkody impressed with his shot-making. Kalubowila’s 42 and Bandara’s 40 were initially laboured efforts. Rahula Ekanayake and skipper Silva took toll of a tiring Kingswood side.

Kumarasiri picked up three, but medium pacie Hettige deserved more than his solitary wicket.
