D.S. wearing two hats

By S.R. Pathiravithana

The newly-appointed Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee chairman, D.S. de Silva, is enjoying a unique perk.

De Silva who is employed as the Manager Schools Development at the SLC with a monthly salary of 300,000 has still not resigned from that position in spite of receiving the new letter of appointment from Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge on Thursday.

At the same time he also has not returned the official vehicle which has been given to him to carry out his duties as the Manager Schools Development. This means that de Silva now functions in two different capacities at the SLC.
The Sunday Times learns that this is the very first occasion that such a situation has arisen at the SLC since Sri Lanka became a full member of the ICC 28 years ago.
