NCE celebrates 40 years
View(s):The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) recently marked its 40th anniversary at a special celebration held alongside its Annual General Meeting and Post-Business Forum, bringing together policymakers, diplomats, exporters and industry stakeholders. At the AGM, Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa was re-elected as President of the NCE for the forthcoming term, the chamber said in a media release.
The newly elected Executive Committee comprises: Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa – President, Dilshan Rajapaksa- Vice President (VP), Ms. Nilrukshi De Silva -Vice President (VP), Sami Bandara- Hony. Secretary, Charith Yalagala- Hony. Treasurer, Lakshan Algama- Hony. Asst. Treasurer, Farhath Amith – Hony. Asst. Secretary, Ms. Thushari Weerakoon- Representative from the Council (RC) and Edward Fernando- Representative from the Council (RC)
Presenting a token of appreciation to the Chief Guest
In his address, the President reflected on a year shaped by policy shifts and economic transition, noting that institutions such as the NCE must remain steady and proactive during periods of national change. He highlighted the chamber’s engagement with newly appointed ministers and officials, as well as involvement with government authorities, aimed at ensuring that exporter concerns are reflected in national policy discussions.
Chief Guest Semih Lütfü Turgut, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sri Lanka, highlighted opportunities for Sri Lankan exporters in several sectors while also pointing to collaboration opportunities, especially given the growing importance of governance and ethical trade standards, particularly for exporters seeking integration into global supply chains.
