After the successful conduct of the Annual International Research Symposium (AIRS) 2026, ICBT Campus, the number one private university in Sri Lanka is now getting ready for another very significant event in their event calendar as the “ICBT Career Day 2026” has been planned to be staged on 18th March at the campus’ premises.
The Career Day 2025 in September last year was a resounding success and now, we’re gearing up for the next version of the same event, ICBT Career Day 2026”, Mr. Sampath Perera, the General Manager of ICBT Campus has started the conversation with us.
“We are linking the industry and the cream of our students in fresh graduates and undergraduates together. We set up a platform for the corporate and industrial sector companies to meet the best of the ICBT students who are seeking the internship or employment opportunities”, Mr. Perera further added.
Each year the event of “ICBT Career Day” has been well graced by many leading and renowned corporate and industrial sector organisations of the country that had been given the opportunity to identify the budding professionals with great potentials who would be best suited for the enhancement of their businesses.
“You would meet students of many different streams and disciplines such as IT, Engineering Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical and Constructions, Bio – Medical Science, Nursing, Psychology, Quantity Surveying, Business Management and many more at this event who have been educated and well nurtured by our highly experienced academic panels”, Mr. Perera has stated.
The General Manager has been delighted to state the students count that secured internships and employment opportunities which has been on a rapid rise since the formation of Career Guidance and Placement Unit, that added to the repertoire of the campus last year. This integral component of ICBT is dedicated to enhance employability of the students by empowering with the necessary soft skills and industrial etiquettes to impress their future employers while promoting the skills and the capabilities of them in the employment market by setting up the “Faculty – Industry relationships”. “In space of 06 to 08 months since the launch of the Career Guidance and Placement Unit, we have been very successful in securing this all-important collaboration with the industry by signing MoUs with 07 of such leading ventures that would open new exiting avenues for the products of us, that of course our students”, Mr. Perera was hopeful of a continuous excellence.
