A resounding wave of support
View(s):It was a full house for ‘Waves of Hope’, the aid concert dedicated to healing and rebuilding Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah. Held on Sunday, February 8, at the Galadari Ballroom in Colombo, the concert raised a remarkable Rs. 4 million for flood relief efforts, including Rs. 400,000 in on-the-spot donations during the event. Every cent collected will be utilized for the benefit of those affected by the cyclone.
The concert was made possible through the collaboration between Western Music Association’s talented musicians and Rotary District 3220’s trusted service leadership. The evening featured outstanding performances by renowned dance band Misty alongside Dalreen, Clifford, Rukshan, Dina, Sohan, and Lulu, all of whom volunteered their time and talent and kept spirits high well past midnight for guests to enjoy a wonderful variety of music for both listening pleasure and dancing.
