Sebastianites C&AC opener Rusiru Vilochana had the honour of slamming the first double century of the SLC Tier ‘B’ 3-day Club Cricket Tournament when he achieved the feat against Leo CC on the second day of the match played at the Army ground in Kosgama yesterday.

Rusiru, who was unbeaten on 106 on the first day, went on to make an unbeaten 200 runs in 282 deliveries that included 26 boundaries. Following his 188-run stand for the second wicket with Sandun Fernando, Rusiru associated in another valuable 86-run stand for the sixth wicket with Tharusha Fernando for the his team.

Sebastianites, who resumed from their overnight score of 201-2, went on to make a formidable score of 345-6 before declaring. Leo CC just faced one delivery when the match was called off due to bad light.

Krishan Sanjula cracked 106 for SSC, as he associated with Nipun Dhananjaya to put on a massive stand of 195 runs for the second wicket against Kandy Customs at Dombagoda. SSC ended the second day in a strong position on 253-3 in reply to Kandy Customs’ first innings score of 155. All matches will continue today.
