Holy Cross Gampaha U-11 shuttlers clinch Div ‘B’ title
View(s):Holy Cross College, Gampaha emerged champions at the All-Island Girls’ Division ‘B’ Inter-Schools Under-11 Team Badminton Championship held recently at the Sugathadasa Indoor Sports Comlex in Colombo. The tournament, conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association, was held during November 25 and 27, where the Holy Cross ‘A’ team shuttlers beat Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Nawala by 3-0, fellow team mates Holy Cross ‘B’ by 3-0 and on the way beat Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya, Nugegoda 3-0 to clinch the title.
The victorious Holy Cross ‘A’ team, led by Limansa Mithuli Herath, included Akenya Bulathsinghala as the vice captain, Sandasi Ekanayake, Sayuni Ranasinghe, Deyana Dohansa, Miheli Jayakodi, Nethuki Pahandi, Sinali Lehansa, Ranuli Gallage, Damsi Sayansa, Thenuli Rehansa and Sanuli Ayasma. The teams were coached by Mahesha Ekanayake with support extended by school officials Rev. Sr. Mary Nuwanthi, the Principal, Rev. Sr. Mary Nimalka, the Senior Deputy Principal, Rev. Sr. Subasiri, Deputy Principal, Rev. Sr. Mary Ranmali, Primary Section Principal and Teacher In-charge Pushpa Perera.
