IRD briefs Colombo Uni staff on tax form submission
View(s):Colombo University staff were briefed by officials of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) on tax regulations, practical procedures, and accurate documentation last week.
The Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) organised an awareness programme on tax form filling and submission at the Jayarathne Auditorium, Faculty of Management and Finance.
The session was conducted by Senior Deputy Commissioner M H D Meneripitiya and Deputy Commissioner H A K K Sanath from the Sri Lanka Inland Revenue Department (IRD) to enhance the understanding of university staff regarding tax regulations, practical procedures, and accurate documentation.
In addition, Senior Commissioner M A Priyanka extended his support to the session.
The university said that the session provided valuable guidance on completing tax forms correctly, common errors to avoid, submission timelines, and the digital services offered by the IRD for a more efficient process.
Participants had the opportunity to clarify their queries, making the session highly interactive and informative. A diverse group of academic, administrative, and non-academic staff participated in the programme, the university added.
