Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga has issued notice to Tamim Rahman, the match-fixing accused and owner of the Dambulla Thunders franchise, to appear in court on November 12 to formally receive the summons.

The Attorney General has filed indictments in the High Court against Rahman in connection with an alleged match-fixing incident during last year’s Lanka Premier League (LPL) cricket tournament.

The charges stem from allegations of fixing during the LPL player auction, held at a five-star hotel in Colombo ahead of the tournament.

Rahman, who is currently out on bail, had previously been questioned in connection with the case. Authorities said the indictment highlights Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to curb corruption in cricket and uphold the integrity of the sport.
