Around five state-owned enterprises are gearing to raise capital through the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). Treasury Officials told The Sunday Times Business that these entities are now in the process of cleaning the balance sheets and transferring their non-performing assets to a common entity. These entities have discussed a securitisation model with the relevant agencies.

Securities Exchange chairman Prof. Hareendra Dissabandara said, “Listing state enterprises is required but it needs to be listed accordingly. Already the catalyst board is available for listing these entities, but it is important for them to possess the value for listing as it is crucial for potential investor interest.”
