ICAM ABACUS Takes Sri Lanka to the UK Abacus Stage for the First Time

At the Brain Up Abacus International Championship 2025, held in Milton Keynes, UK, the ICAM team stood shoulder to shoulder with participants from across the world—including the United Kingdom, United States, Netherlands, Switzerland, Romania, China, and India. The young Sri Lankan competitors demonstrated exceptional skill, mental agility, and confidence, leaving a lasting impression on the international audience.
Adding to this proud moment, ICAM ABACUS also celebrated another major success earlier this year. In June 2025, the team brought home top honours from a prestigious international competition in Malaysia. A delegation of 100 talented ICAM students participated in the Genting International Abacus Competition for the second consecutive year. This highly competitive event, supported by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, brought together over 2,000 participants from 10 countries.
Sri Lanka was proudly represented as ICAM students delivered outstanding performances, returning home with a remarkable collection of trophies, medals, and talent certificates. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Azard Ikram, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Education, who attended as Chief Guest. To further enrich the experience, students and their families enjoyed a sightseeing tour following the competition, turning the trip into a memorable educational adventure.
With a legacy spanning over 15 years, ICAM ABACUS has built a reputation for delivering high-quality abacus education rooted in traditional methods from Japan and China, enhanced by modern teaching techniques.
