Ajit Jayaratne, a respected leader of Sri Lanka’s business community and lately Chairman of Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC, passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday. The funeral was held on Friday.
Mr. Jayaratne was a respected business leader and part of the prominent business community when the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was formed and its developments, thereafter. He was a long time chairman of Forbes and Walker Ltd and served in many other influential positions in the community.
