FitsAir strengthens regional network with daily Dhaka Service
View(s):In response to strong demand, growing trade and tourism ties between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, FitsAir has announced that its Colombo–Dhaka service will operate daily from August 18, 2025.
This strategic expansion follows a steady uptick in passenger movement and reflects FitsAir’s commitment to enabling seamless, affordable regional travel. Bangladesh has emerged as one of South Asia’s fastest-growing economies, with business and leisure travel between Colombo and Dhaka seeing continued momentum, the airline said in a media release.
“Operating daily into Dhaka strengthens our product and service offering for our customers flying to Sri Lanka and onward into our regional network,” said Ammar Kassim, Executive Director of FitsAir.
According to recent data from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, over 4,700 Bangladeshi visitors travelled to Sri Lanka in March 2025 alone, a 260 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. “These figures reflect a clear demand for better connectivity, and we’re proud to support that with more frequent and affordable service,” he added.
FitsAir’s expansion comes at a time when Sri Lanka is actively boosting inbound tourism and trade with South Asia. Dhaka, a key market for medical tourism, higher education, and retail travel to Colombo, is expected to benefit from the added frequency, strengthening both countries’ economies and travel ecosystems.
FitsAir operates flights to Malé, Dubai, Dhaka, and Kuala Lumpur, and recently introduced Business Class across all routes.
