Maliban CSR restoring hope for people with disabilities
View(s):For over seven decades, Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt) Limited, has been a company celebrated for leading impactful initiatives that inspire goodness and now unveils its latest meaningful step.
HumaniTill is a timely new initiative by the Maliban Jeewithaloka Programme, aimed to be a source of strength and hope to Sri Lankans who embody unyielding courage, the company said in a media release.
Collaborating with Maliban is the Meththa Foundation – humanitarian specialists providing a new lease of life to people with disabilities, through customised artificial limbs, for over three decades. This eagerly anticipated HumaniTill initiative was launched on June 10-11 at the sacred sites of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi and Ruwanwelisaya in Anuradhapura.
The HumaniTill is more than an ordinary donation box – it’s a life-sized human figure, with a transparent arm and a leg, serving as a touching symbol of those who have lost limbs due to accidents or illness. The initiative’s mission is clear and compassionate: to provide prosthetic limbs to individuals with disabilities and immense financial constraints – restoring their mobility, independence, and hope for a second chance at life.
Over the course of the two-day launch, the HumaniTill initiative, by Maliban together with the Meththa Foundation, received an outpouring of generosity and support, further inspiring a society driven by goodness.
“At Maliban, inspiring goodness is a way of life. With the HumaniTill, we aim to give people not only mobility, but a second chance at life,” said Positha Perera, Group Head of Corporate Communications, Maliban Group of Companies.
