The Higher Education Ministry is taking steps to improve health facilities in 4 universities which lack basic medical facilities.

These are the universities of Sabaragamuwa, Moratuwa, Uva and Wayamba.

“These four campuses lack basic medical facilities for students and staff, including medical personnel needed for the medical centres, “ Deputy Minister of Education Madura Seneviratne said.

State universities have medical centres and in-house emergency medical facilities, but without adequate personnel, they are unable to attend to the needs of students and staff effectively. -DW
