The Ritzbury Relay Carnival 2025 came to a thrilling conclusion at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama, following three days of electrifying competition and record-breaking performances. With over 5,000 young athletes from nearly 250 schools across the country, the event provided a national stage for Sri Lanka’s next generation of sporting talent to display their skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA), and powered by Ritzbury as the sole sponsor, the Relay Carnival once again underscored its role in nurturing the nation’s future champions.

Going beyond school-level competition, the 2025 edition of the carnival featured a special international relay round on the final day. This event was held at the request of the Sri Lanka Athletics, offering a valuable opportunity for the Sri Lankan national relay team to qualify for the World Relay Championship.

The international relay round featured teams from India, the Philippines, and the Maldives, with the Sri Lankan team emerging victorious. As the Ritzbury Relay Carnival is officially registered under the World Athletics Federation, results from this round are internationally recognised, making it a pivotal moment in Sri Lanka’s road to global athletics platforms.

While celebrating victory and competition, the Ritzbury Relay Carnival 2025 also stood as a testament to unity, opportunity, and hope. It brought together athletes from across the island—bridging regions, schools, and backgrounds—highlighting the rich diversity and depth of Sri Lanka’s sporting talent.
